How to get meldunek
Zameldunek, or "meldunek", is a mandatory registration procedure in Poland. The country does not have the concept of "propiska" for migrants. All citizens and foreigners staying for more than 30 days must go through zameldunek (EU and Polish citizens - within three months). This applies even to students and seasonal workers.

For other foreigners, registration is only possible by a personal visit to the administration. The procedure is simple and takes only a few minutes, only certain documents are required.
How to get a Pesel identification number
To obtain a PESEL number, it is important to contact your local city or gmina uzhend at your registered address. You will need the following documents: a valid passport with a visa or a residence card and a rental agreement.
The process is quite simple and efficient. Provide the specified documents to the inspector and, if everything is in order, you will receive your PESEL number within a few hours. It is important to note that even without a residence permit, you can obtain a PESEL. To do this, fill out an additional application for a PESEL number, in which you indicate the legal grounds for obtaining an identification number. For example, this may be an obligation to provide a number for some government agency, such as the tax office, ZUS or even the police in the event of a fine.
